As our Director Central Services / Kaufmännischer Leiter (m/f/div) you will lead the departments Accounting, Controlling, Human Resources and Legal as well as Procurement (to be established unit). In this demanding role, you will be a member of the leadership team of FLOCERT, reporting to the Managing Director / CEO of the company.

 

An important part of the role will be to guide and support the teams in defining and implementing department strategies, based on our FLOCERT strategy 2021 – 2025. In addition, you will be liaising with our shareholder, Fairtrade International e.V., having the opportunity to gain deep insight into the area of sustainability, development, and certification in a unique environment.

 

Furthermore, you will be significantly involved in the further development of the company’s structures and processes through close exchange with the IT, operations, and business development departments in particular.

 

You are the ideal candidate if you are highly reliable, value-driven and a communicative individual with digital affinity and excellent IT knowledge.

Responsibilities:

​​

  • Manage and support the Senior Managers of the 4 Central Service teams in their further development

  • Competent support and sparring partner for the Managing Director in all financial and commercial matters

  • Ensure that the departmental strategies are aligned and consistent with the FLOCERT strategy, considering interdisciplinary resources and budget levels

  • Monitoring and controlling liquidity

  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports as well as annual financial statements, both at individual company level and on a consolidated basis

  • Regular analysis and further development of key figures and deriving recommendations for action

  • Preparation of strategic plans (budget planning / investments)

  • Ensuring smooth commercial processing of customer orders (e.g., invoicing and communications)

  • Definition of improvement projects and further development of existing structures and processes (e.g., contribution margin accounting, shared service potentials)

  • Close cooperation with auditors, banks, shareholder etc.

  • Revise the existing project reporting system including definition of relevant metrics to track company projects and to communicate with stakeholders

  • Supervise the further development of a Compliance Management System

  • Take-over predecessor’s roles in Fairtrade oversight committees (participating in FLOCERT Supervisory Board and Finance Committee, Fairtrade International Finance & Audit Committee, co-leading the Fairtrade network’s Global Finance Directors Working Group)

Qualifications:

​

  • Convincing and motivating leader with above-average communication skills

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical skills and creative drive

  • University degree in business administration with focus on finance and accounting / controlling or an alternative position-related subject

  • Several years of professional experience in the commercial management of a medium-sized company

  • Very good knowledge of commercial processes and their mapping in IT systems

  • Experience with financial statements according to German Commercial Code (HGB), at the level of individual companies as well as on consolidated basis

  • High IT affinity

  • Fluency in German and English, both verbal and written

  • Great team player with positive and pro-active attitude

  • Work experience in an international environment

  • Dedicated working style with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills

  • Ability to multitasking focused on detail and delivery

  • Fluency in any other language (e.g., French or Spanish) is an asset
